Waves is the smaller and more modern of MAYFAIR's two Puri addresses, and the one that sits on the sea itself. Thirty of its thirty-four keys face the water; the four suites carry balconies wide enough to sit out on. The beach is reached from the property rather than across a road, which in Puri — where the shore is public, busy and magnificent — is the difference between visiting the sea and living beside it for a few days.
