MAYFAIR EXPERIENCE

Resort - Gopalpur
Signor Maglioni built Palm Beach in 1914, on twelve acres of the Ganjam coast, at a time when Gopalpur was still shipping rice to Rangoon and the 1871 lighthouse was the tallest thing on the shoreline. When MAYFAIR took it over and rebuilt it, keeping the white and cerulean façades, the antique-lined corridors and the atrium that still does most of the lighting. India's first beach resort, and it has been watching the same stretch of the Bay of Bengal for a hundred and twelve years.

Gopalpur served as a prominent port during World War I. It is a coastal town that is dotted with a number of pristine beaches. To explore these beautiful landmarks, the best time to visit is during the months of October through March. While on a stay in Gopalpur, do not miss out on a delightful visit to the languorous Gopalpur Beach, one of the very few inhabiting sites of Olive Ridley turtles in the country.
Three things that make Palm Beach unlike any other address on this coast.

White and cerulean blue, sea-facing verandas, a sunlit atrium, and corridors hung with the antiques the restoration kept.

Named for the year the hotel opened. The only Pan-Asian kitchen in the region, and the only teppanyaki counter with chefs cooking on the iron griddle in front of you.

Rushikulya beach lies 20 km up the coast and is one of a handful of mass-nesting sites on earth for Olive Ridley turtles.
