The 1910 Bungalow
The Director's house of the Jungpana estate, once home to Nepal's royal family — its furniture still in the rooms.
MAYFAIR EXPERIENCE

Jungpana
Jungpana is one of Darjeeling's storied gardens — four hundred acres of tea in country so remote it is still reached the hard way — and the Manor is its Director's bungalow of 1910, once home to Nepal's royal family. MAYFAIR took the estate on in 2022 and kept the house what it was: twelve rooms, working fireplaces, heirloom furniture, and the tea running to the horizon on every side. Stays are all-inclusive, because there is nowhere else to eat for miles, and that is the point.

For over four decades, MAYFAIR has hosted travellers who could not settle for the ordinary. Whether your heart is drawn to lagoon gardens, Himalayan terraces, or the Bay of Bengal at dawn — every MAYFAIR address is composed with the same quiet promise of grace.
The smallest property in the collection, and the most secluded — a house, a garden, a pool kept warm, and four hundred acres of tea.

The Director's house of the Jungpana estate, once home to Nepal's royal family — its furniture still in the rooms.

Suites with private sit-outs over the tea, working fireplaces, and bathtubs — some with jacuzzis.

Outdoor and kept warm, which at this altitude is what makes it a pool rather than a view.
and no thirteenth
Every room carries the house's history; the suites add sit-outs facing the tea and fireplaces of their own.

A canopy bed, a fireplace, a sit-out over the plantation — the house at its fullest.

Four hundred acres of working garden — pluckers on the slopes, the factory below, and paths that belong to the house.

Treatments in a house this size mean the spa is effectively yours for the hour.

Warm water, cold air, and tea country in every direction.

Evenings here are the house's best hour — the fountain garden at dusk, then the fireplaces.
